Appointment of Sanda High Performance Coach Confirmed

KWA President, Walt Missingham, has confirmed the appointment of Robert
Williams as the first High Performance Coach for Sanda.
 
Walt commented “Rob’s successes and commitment to the development of Sanda
have been unswerving and exemplary, he is worthy recipient of this
appointment which will only enhance our already strong presence on the
international sanda competition stage.

Victorian Institute of Sport Individual Scholarships 2015/2016

Applications for Individual Athlete Scholarships are invited from Victorian athletes with outstanding performance records at national and/or international level in sports that are currently not a VIS Tier 1 Program. The VIS currently has Tier 1 programs in the following sports: Aerial Skiing, Athletics (including AWD athletes), Cycling, Diving, Golf, Gymnastics, Hockey, Netball, Rowing, Sailing, Swimming (including AWD athletes), Triathlon and Water Polo. (Scholarship applications for each of these sports are available at specific times in the year, based upon seasonal and competition schedules).

Applications are also invited from athletes with a disability with an outstanding record in any sport (excluding AWD Athletics & AWD Swimming) with potential to succeed at the high performance level.

Scholarships provide assistance with specialist coaching, sport science, sports medicine, physical preparation and education & career development services as well as training & competition expenses.

Appointment of Taolu High Performance Coach Confirmed

KWA President, Walt Missingham, has confirmed the appointment of Dr Kee Tan
as the first High Performance Coach for Taolu. Walt commented “Kee’s
achievements and dedication to the development of wushu have been
outstanding, he is thoroughly deserving of this appointment which I am sure
will only improve on our already outstanding international competitions
successes”.

2015 Australian Kung Fu Wushu Championships

Kung Fu Wushu NSW is pleased to announce it will be hosting the 2015 Australian Kung-Fu Wushu Championships. It will be held on Sunday May 3, 2015 at Ryde Community Centre.

DEADLINE ANNOUNCED FOR 2015 WORLD WUSHU CHAMPIONSHIPS REGISTRATION

Under ‘Section IV – 1, 2 & 3′ of the KWA Team Selection Policy KWA President,
Walt Missingham has asked that all taolu athletes who wish to be considered
for selection to be part of the 2015 World Wushu Championships Australian
representative team to please formally advise the Head Coach, Dr Kee Lee Tan,
of your intention to seek selection.

Your advice should include your name, contact details, age, sex, previous
experience and the categories you seek to compete in.

The close off date for this advice will be 5pm February 20th 2015.

Persons not so advising the Head Coach by this close off date will not be
eligible for selection.
